Good morning! 4 quick points to make today - read on...
Remember to get involved with steering the direction of Whangarei Youth Music by coming to the AGM on Friday 3 March at 7pm at the Old Library.
Take the opportunity to nominate yourself or someone you know for a place on the committee - see form attached.
Get a WYM t-shirt! An order is being prepared, please see options at the front desk on Friday night. They look good and promote our group!
Bread-tags - we want your bread-tags! One of our members, Jenny from Dargaville, is participating in a community support project and asks for our bread tags to send overseas where they contribute to a wheelchair opportunity for people with disabilities. Sounds interesting.
Please use the registration form attached and, if required, also the instrument hire form, make your payment on-line, and return forms either to email@example.com or in hard copy to the front desk
If you hired an instrument in 2016 and have returned it we want to give your bond back. Please supply us with your account details by e-mailling through web-site or directly to firstname.lastname@example.org or leave details at front desk on Friday night. We ask that you do this before the end of term 1 please.
Shona Kelly of Health and Safety Northland has been super-helpful in developing our Health and Safety Manuals for our organisation and we want to say how grateful we are. We also highly recommend her service if you are looking for a similar project to be undertaken.
Did you know we have some interesting music books in the Old Library, there are quite a range of books for members to borrow or read on Friday nights. Please either ask at the front desk or find them inside the front door on the shelves to the right. We ask that you make a note of what you have taken in the sign-out book that is there.
Children's Day is coming up, and we will participate this year in the annual festivities held at The Pulse. Mark your calendar for March 5, from 10 - 3pm. Listen to your conductors for details of when your group will play. We are also looking for people to help visitors trial instrument and do activities.
Please visit our website and give us feedback, we are looking to make it user-friendly and your feedback will be valuable
AGM important date, mark your calendars with 3 March 7.30pm. Ideally we would like students and parents from all groups represented, this type of collaboration looks excellent to employers on your CV! Nominate yourself or a friend by passing names forward to the front desk or to email@example.com. Several roles are up for grabs including Publicity Co-ordinator and Events Manager, the current committee are available to support new members and the roles are not too demanding.
Mark your calendar again - 10 March Open Night, when we open our doors to the public to see what we do at rehearsals. Please come forward to the front desk or by email if you can help on the night to show guests round - students, musicians and whanau supporters
Did you realise that you can access this newsletter directly via the web-site, and we have a link ‘sign up for newsletter’ for anyone you know, not only members of WYM, who wants to be informed.
